Lacking character -- but loaded with potential -- this laundry room was typical of many new homes. To give it some natural flavor, we applied a green grass wall decal and installed solid bamboo flooring, which holds up well to moisture. A front-load washer and dryer from Whirlpool offer a contemporary look and plenty of capacity. Plus, they allow space directly overhead for hanging clothes (closet rod) and much-needed shelving -- built from poplar boards (1088, #1093, #1098) and plywood.
