Decorate pumpkins before you place them on the casters to race. Use your creativity to make your pumpkin look like the speediest pumpkin on the track.

Step 1

Add bright spots. Stick a long reflector to a dowel using the adhesive backing, then poke the dowel into the top of the pumpkin. For reflector eyes and nose, stick small circular reflectors to the pumpkins.

Step 2

Use color. Wrap reflective tape around the pumpkin. We used yellow on one pumpkin and red and black on another.

Step 3

Make faces. Use the circular reflectors, washers, small mirrors, or tub and shower drain pieces for the eyes, nose, and mouth.

Step 4

Add racing gear. Place goggles around the pumpkin's eyes.

Step 5

Wave to the crowd. To add a flag to your pumpkin, wrap a small piece of fabric, such as a piece of a shop towel, around a dowel and adhere it with glue. Stick the dowel into the top of the pumpkin.

Race Your Pumpkin

Step 1

When the pumpkins are ready to hit the pavement, create a starting line and finish line using reflective tape.

Step 2

Place the pumpkins on the three-wheeled casters behind the starting line, and then wheel them toward the finish line as fast as you can!
