Project Resources

Instructions

Although the shelf and message center work together, you can add either or both to suit the space you have available.

Create a Message Center

Step 1

Use a 12-inch cork square full size or trim it to fit your wall space.

Good to Know

When cutting the cork, use a sharp utility knife blade and make several light passes to avoid tearing out the corners. Cut against a straightedge where possible.

Step 2

Use dabs of general-purpose adhesive on the back of the cork to supplement its adhesive strips, and press it firmly against the wall.

Step 3

To hold lists, receipts, and coupons, place a small bead of adhesive on the back of one or more clothespins and press the glue into the cork. Tape or hold each clothespin in place until the adhesive sets.

Step 4

Laundry check station

To identify your laundry-check station, add a symbol made using a downloadable pattern. Print a copy of the pattern and tape or glue it to the backing on a piece of adhesive shelf liner. Use scissors or a crafts knife to cut around the check mark and shield shape. Remove the backing and fasten the logo to the wall as shown.

Add a Wall Shelf

Step 1

Position the metal shelf-mounting bracket on your wall using a level, and mark the mounting hole locations. For mounting holes not directly over a wall stud, add wall anchors as needed.

Step 2

Laundry-check station with shelf

Screw the mounting bracket to the wall according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Then slide the shelf onto the support rods and press it firmly against the wall.
