Designing a perennial garden is a great way to express creativity and add size, color and fragrance to your garden. Perennials are a great investments and are easy to take care of year after year and they grow bigger and bigger as time goes on.
Perennials come in a wide variety of sizes from low growing to towering perennials that are over six feet tall. For a perennial that is medium height look for a dwarf coreopsis.
Another great thing about these flowers is their color. They come in almost every color. For bright colors think about planting coreopsis, rudbeckia, salvia, cone-flowers, Asiatics and lilies. For more toned down colors pick perennials that are blues, violets or whites. Aside from their look they also have a sweet fragrance. Peonies, phlox and roses smell just as good as they look and float throughout the garden.
Easy to plant, light water and in hearty soil they will flourish.
