Step 1

Lightly sand any rough surfaces on the rosettes. Paint the petals with two coats of the color of your choice, sanding lightly between coats.

Step 2

Paint the round centers of rosettes with two coats and let the paint dry overnight.

Step 3

Place the rosette on a piece of scrap wood and drill a 1/8-inch hole near the tip of one petal on the rosette. You can also add an optional face to the center using a fine-point permanent marker.

Step 4

Thread narrow ribbon or twine through the hole and use the rest to attach the ornament to a bag or package.

Good to Know

You can also turn painted rosettes into refrigerator magnets by omitting the hole and gluing a magnet to the back.
