Glam Bedroom Makeover
A budget makeover transformed unused space into the perfect place for a girl to relax. A comfy daybed pairs nicely with an elegant DIY side table. Bold painted stripes perk up an accent wall and dress up a lampshade.

Embellish a Plain Lampshade with Stripes
Measure the circumference of the top and bottom of the lampshade (#352517). Divide into an even number of equally spaced sections. At every other section, attach painter's tape vertically along the lampshade. Paint the exposed stripes black; let dry. Remove tape.

Decorate an Accent Wall With Picture Frames
Cut four angled pieces of medium-density fiberboard (#5733) to fit your picture, join them together with wood glue and corner braces (#315661), and attach a hanger to the back. Spray-paint the frame, let dry, and tape or staple your picture to the back of the frame.
-

DIY a Side Table
Upgrade a garden urn or side table with a terra-cotta saucer (#352403) and spray paint. After painting both pieces, place painter's tape on each side of the saucer to create handles. Lower the saucer on top of the urn or table and use the tape to adjust.

Create a Storage-Filled Nook
Soft purple walls (Valspar Signature Utterly Violet, #4001-8A) bring a colorful contrast to the black-and-white wall. Stylish DIY projects add storage and décor and make getting ready easier.
-

Organize Jewelry with Decorative Hooks
These inexpensive painted hooks keep jewelry organized and in easy reach -- and they provide a simple way to add wall décor. Spray-paint small craft finials (#19285) and let dry. Attach each finial to the wall with a plastic drywall anchor.

Store Brushes with a Handy Organizer
Keep makeup brushes organized by turning a furniture bun foot into an organizer. Choose the brushes you'll use and select drill bits that match the end width of each brush. Drill holes halfway through the bun foot, spacing as desired. Sand, spray paint, and let dry.

Refresh an Old Chair with Spray Paint
Use spray paint to transform an old chair into a vanity seat that matches your bedroom decor. Wash and dry the chair. Spray a coat of rust-fighting primer on the entire chair. Apply spray paint to the chair and let dry. It may take two or more coats to complete.

Store Shoes in Style
Mount a pair of 3-shelf organizers (#12889) on an empty wall to create a distinctive shoe organizer. Paint the inside of each square (we used Very Black, #94101) to help shoes stand out. Plus, it keeps favorite footwear handy and acts as a decorative display.

Help a Full-Length Mirror Stand Out
A glamorous frame adds pizzazz to a full-length mirror, gives blank walls stenciled style, and makes getting ready fun. A painted slab door, a simple stencil, and a rectangular mirror are all it takes to create the picture frame effect.
