One of the largest and finest of our native maples. A long-living, stately, deciduous shade tree with upright spreading branches.
Light: Plant in sun to part shade.
Growth: Medium to slow growing, reaching an average landscape size of 60-75' tall.
Uses: Prefers open spaces, large lawns and parks. Does not tolerate pollution or salt.
Tips: Prefers fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Prefers slightly acidic soils.
