Excessive heat, ultraviolet rays and substances such as salt, oil, gas and grease all take their toll on an asphalt driveway. Without protection, that beautiful black driveway eventually can become a lumpy, crumbling mess. If you are willing to put forth a little effort, you can prevent these problems by sealing, protecting and maintaining your driveway.
QPR Professional Grade Driveway Sealer has become the nation’s standard for sealing and protecting pavement. With our no mix formula, QPR Driveway Sealer can be used directly out of the pail with no blending or mixing required.
Before applying QPR Driveway Sealer, check to ensure the following prerequisites are met:
Once all of these pre-requisites have been met, you are ready to start the sealing process.
Each pail of QPR Professional Grade Driveway Sealer should yield approximately 350 square feet of coverage, but may yield less based on the permeability of your pavement as well as various other factors.
Fully clean off any debris or dirt on your pavement surface. The surface must be COMPLETELY clean before applying QPR Driveway Sealer.
It is best to tape off all surfaces adjacent to the pavement you do not want sealed. This would include any concrete surfaces, brick, gutters, or anything that might come in contact with the sealer.
For edges, you can use a dry brush to apply the Driveway Sealer if preferred. This will provide a neater edge.
Open the bucket and begin to pour the sealer from one side of the pavement to the other pouring a 6 inch bead of sealer starting at your garage or carport working toward the street.
Take your QPR Squeegee Tool and begin to spread a very thin layer of sealer moving from one side to the other and back again making sure to cover 100% of the asphalt surface.
