Setting a Post with Concrete

setting a post

Setting a post for a mailbox or other projects in your yard is a quick and easy weekend project you can do with just a few, simple steps.

Setting a Post

Step 1

Place QUIK-TUBE® Building Form into the hole. Set the post into the form and temporarily stand straight.

Step 2

Pour the dry mix into the QUIK-TUBE®. Two 50-pound bags of QUIKRETE® Fast-Setting Concrete will set a 4-inch-by-4-inch (or a 4-inch diameter) post in a 10-inch diameter hole 2 feet deep.

Step 3

Pour water into the dry mix and allow it to soak in. Use enough water to saturate the dry mix.

Step 4

Fill the remainder of the hole with soil dug from the hole. It sets in 20 to 40 minutes. Wait four hours before placing heavy objects.
