Turn photos into a contemporary piece of block art.

Instructions

contemporary photo art1. Print a photo in a standard size, such as 8 x 10 inches.

2. Purchase a 1 x 10 board in the length needed. For example, if you are creating three 8- x 10-inch projects, choose a board that is at least 30 inches long. (We used a 1 x 10 x 4.)

3. On the board, mark each photo’s dimensions and how you want to cut the pieces.

Note: A 1 x 10 actually measures 9-1/4 inches wide, so you will need to rip it to 8 inches for 8- x 10-inch photos. Use a circular saw or a handsaw with miter box to cut the pieces.

4. Lightly mark the dimensions of the wood pieces on each photo. Using a utility knife, carefully trim each photo into corresponding pieces.

5. Attach a small picture hanger (#99644) to the back of each wood piece, centered near the top edge.

6. Use acid-free spray adhesive (#275900) to attach the photo pieces to the wood pieces, and then hang them on the wall.
