Cork-Mat Bulletin Board

Create this decorative and useful accessory to organize your kitchen.

How-To Instructions

Rough Cost Estimate: $90 (Does not include applicable taxes, which vary by market, or the cost of tools.)

Rough Time Estimate: 1 day

Step 1: Trim the plywood to 23 x 43 inches. Cut the 2-foot-long boards to 23 inches. Cut the 4-foot-long boards to 40 inches. (A Lowe’s employee can do this for you in the lumber department.) Attach the boards to the plywood, outer edges flush, using wood glue.

Step 2: Paint the front of the project brown, and allow to dry. Leave two 10-inch-diameter cork plant mats unpainted, and paint the remaining ones as shown in the colors of your choice. Allow to dry. Using wood glue, attach the mats to the frame as shown.

Step 3: Attach a strap/wire mirror hanger to each upper corner using wood screws.
