Instructions

Step 1

Remove the side disks from the core of an empty ribbon spool. Then cut lengths of twine about 2 feet long. (You don't need to wrap all of it.)
Good to Know
You can also use a compass to draw and cut cardboard disks any size you like. Leave a hole with at least 1/2-inch in diameter at the center.

Step 2

Choose your first twine color, pull one end through the hole in the disk, and tie a loop snugly around the disk. Wrap twine around the disk and work your way around the outside edge until you cover the disk.

Step 3

When you're ready to change colors, tie the next color twine to the previous one with the knot on the back face and continue wrapping. Repeat with the remaining colors and knot the final strand to hold it in place.
Good to Know
Wrap the twine snug against the disk, but not so tight that it bends the disk. Flatten the disk as needed while you work.

Step 4

Cut a piece of colored twine about twice as long as the width of the disk, loop it through the center of the ornament, and tie the ends to create a hanger for the ornament.
